another disturbing problem w the guild member options is that the "designate to leader" is placed in a different order for member vs officer >.<

It is sloppy a weak UI. While TsunamiZ made the mistake, two step confirmation is common to all UI's and should be implemented here. It's just good design practice.

Soooo, perhaps this post should be moved to suggestions board or a new post made there to reflect such a recommendation?

i questioned anet support about this and guess what? you need to have either the player you accidently promoted to give you back your leadership, or wait for the player to be INACTIVE for 2 MONTHS [60 days] since you promoted him! how rediculous is that?? heck, GW Factions is not even out for 2 months yet!

I see, so you were intending to kick an inactive member but instead promoted them instead. Bummer.

You have to sympathize with Anet though, how do they know what's going on in your guild and so cannot blindly make such changes to leadership.

The problem is their leader promotion design is flawed and then they have a rediculous 2 month inactive wait time. Besides, the player that was promoted has a note of who promoted them when you highlight their name.

So there is at least a confirmation window? Thank you Stalker for clearing that up. So what then TsunamiZ isn't a second window enough for you? I'll have to agree with JR here, you need to take responsibility for your own mistake and quit blaming others.

You are basically requesting the Dev team to spend coding resource time with something that seems fairly functional.

i dont recall a window...besides, promoting a leader should require a more concious effort like typing in the name of the player...

agreed here.. if you meant to choose officer\kick instead of guild leader, and dont pay attention to the prompt, it would suck. I know everyone is saying you should be more careful, but i dont think there is any harm in adding "type the name of the person you want to make guild leader here" option.. at least then, if you do do it.. you cant come to the boards and moan
